About Me

In 2000, Amaranta Ibarra graduated from Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes of Mexico City with a BA in Ceramics. While in school she took other classes such as: mosaics, textiles, jewelry and printmaking. She moved back to Seattle for the third and last attempt, to pursue her dream as an Artist. Her artwork reflect  a Mexican-American & PNW, where culture has blended throughout the years. In early 2013, under the guidance of Ventures, a business incubator based in Seattle,  she launched an Art Mobile School with great success, offering a wide range of classes from mixed media, ceramics, printmaking, etc among many  other workshops.

“My path as Teaching Artist in the last 18 years, has brought immense satisfaction, to serve and advocate the ones, that haven’t gain access to Arts Education. Through my educational art programs, every participant is guided the necessary tools for a competitive future: critical thinking, collaboration and communication and to start planting a seed of new possibilities. I encouraged students to value curiosity through observation and gain self-confidence. I like my students to explore a variety of mediums over and over again. After all, nothing makes me more happy than enriching a child’s inner channel of creativity. “

Amaranta is an art educator, an artist, an arts facilitator, a mother and an arts advocate. Since 2000, she has worked extensively with many arts organizations, non-profits, museums, community center,  private and public schools to bring Arts Education to underserved youth.  She  volunteered at La Casa de Artes, White Center for the Arts and currently involved with South Park Arts.

Her vision and ambition with her school its to celebrate other cultures and reserve their identity by making art. To learn about the changes our world is getting from the environmental going of view to social justice and to inspire others to do the same.
